ST. LOUIS - Darcy Nayler is back at work as a nurse at Missouri Baptist Medical Center days after checking an item of her bucket list.
"It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life,” Nayler said.
Nayler rode 100 miles on a bicycle in Lake Tahoe, raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It was the ride of a lifetime, after the fight of her life.
In the fall of 2014, the nurse became a patient when she was diagnosed with Leukemia.
"There were a lot of scary days. A lot of ER visits and sometimes my family didn't think I was going to make it,” Nayler said.
She pulled through, thanks to great medical care and the generosity of total strangers who donated blood.
"Blood donation saved my life,” Nayler said.
