Q:Why am I seeing old information on my screen?
A: There are two very common explanations for this issue -- (1) You are viewing a page which was "cached" on your computer, or (2) you may be behind a firewall or your ISP or system administrators are using a proxy or caching server. Below are steps to try and resolve the issue.

Local Caching -- Your computer will often "cache" elements of a Web page (such as images) so the page can be downloaded faster the next time you visit. In other words, the old document is stored on your computer's hard drive, and the browser will not seek out the latest page each time you visit the site.

To make sure you are not viewing a "cached" page, first try pressing the "Reload" or "Refresh" button on your browser. By doing so, you're asking your browser to request the latest page from our site.

You can also clear the cache. Clearing the cache is different for each browser.

IE 4.0: If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0 select View -> Internet Options -> General. Choose Temporary Internet Files and Delete Files.
IE 3.0 With Internet Explorer 3, choose View -> Options -> Advanced -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings, and click on Empty Folder.
Netscape 3.0: If you're a Netscape 3 user, click on Options -> Network Preferences -> Cache. Then click on Clear Memory Cache Now and Clear Disk Cache Now.
Netscape 4: For Windows, select Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache.

ISP, Company Caching -- If that still doesn't work, then you may be behind a firewall or your ISP or system administrators are using a proxy or caching server. These servers often save (cache) local copies of frequently requested web pages and graphics to reduce traffic loads. Not infrequently these servers can retain their copies long after we've changed them on our servers. In that case you need to contact your system administrators or your ISP Tech Support for assistance.

Do I need a specific version of Windows Media Player?
Yes. Windows Media Player is the only player option available to view ksdk.com Video. The ksdk.com video player is optimized for Windows Media Player version 9 and above.

Windows users may watch video using versions 7 or 8, but may be prompted to install Microsoft Windows Media 9 codec. The overall user experience might be less satisfactory.

Mac users may watch video using version 9 for Mac OS X.

For optimal performance we recommend that you download the latest player. The latest Windows Media Player can be obtained from the Microsoft Download Center.

Does the video player support Real or Quicktime?
No, not at this time.  The only supported format it Windows Media.

Why are there commercials in front of some video clips?
By running commercials in the video, ksdk.com is able to offer the consistently high quality and quantity of online video programming at no cost to our users.

Why does the video window not show up, or nothing ever plays?
Javascript must be enabled for the ksdk.com video player to work. We recommend you disable any ad or pop up blocking software tools that you may have installed and try again. When pop-up window blocking is enabled, the ad blocking feature automatically blocks the programming code web sites use to open secondary windows, which include the video player.

My popup blocker won't let me watch Videos. How can I fix that?
Pop-up blockers may prevent the ksdk.com video player from opening. Setting your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from ksdk.com will fix this problem. Please see your pop-up blocker's help section for more information. Many popup blockers can by modified via a "settings," "options," or "block/allow" button.

Can I download videos on ksdk.com?
    ksdk.com videos cannot be downloaded.

    What about firewalls?
Some corporate networks and Internet Service Providers block video transmissions. If you cannot see video clips (even though your system meets the system requirements noted above), you may want to contact your Internet Service Provider or Network Administrator to see whether a security firewall is blocking video transmission.

    Norton Internet Security Users
Norton Internet Security (NIS), by default, disallows external programs, like Windows Media Player, from running. You must scan for Internet-enabled programs in NIS's Personal Firewall section. Once you have done so, NIS will allow those programs access media on the Internet and therefore, those programs will work normally again. For help running a program scan see How to run the Program Scan in Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall.

If you meet the system requirements but still have difficulty accessing ksdk.com video, we recommend you disable any ad or pop up blocking software tools that you may have installed and try again.
