A terrifying lancetfish with fangs washes ashore in N.C.

A rare, deep-sea fish washed ashore in Nags Head, North Carolina, last Monday. The fish was identified as a lancetfish, which can grow up to 6.6 feet in length and possesses sharp fang-like teeth. The lancetfish belongs to the Alepisauridae family, which is Greek for "scaleless lizard." Not much is known about the fish, but scientists believe lancetfish to be cannibalistic in nature. The fish was released back into the water after a few photos were taken, according to WAVY 10.

In short, you should never go to the Outer Banks ever again.
