Historic water tower opens for super moon

ST. LOUIS – The Compton Hill Water Tower will open this weekend for the full moon and feature food trucks and music.

The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. when Streetlife, Andrew's Bayou Ribs, Hot Axtec Mexican, Kona Ice, Sia's Italian Ice, and Destination Desserts line up to serve food.

Contemporary Jazz guitarist Vincent Varvel and keyboard artist Adam Maness will begin playing at 7 p.m.

The water tower is typically open from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month from April through November. On Saturday, July 12 it will re-open at 5:30 p.m. so people can climb to the top and check out a great view of the moon.

Admission to climb the tower is $5 per person, $3 for kids 6 to 12-years-old. Children five and under are free.
