Hooters surprises 'Girl of the Year' in downtown STL

ST. LOUIS – Hooters has named their 2014 "Girl of the Year."

Tyler Suess was surprised Tuesday while working a divisional training session at the Hooters of Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis. She was chosen from more than 30,000 Hooters Girls worldwide for the honor.

Suess was presented with flowers, a Girl of the Year sash, and a check for $4,000. She'll also be featured in Hooters Magazine. A spokesperson for Hooters says Suess was chosen because she has excellent hospitality skills, a positive attitude, impeccable image, and a great personality.

"I can't even say how excited I am," Suess said through tears. "The eight years I've been here has been so amazing."

A resident of Rockford, Ill., Suess has been featured as a Hooters Calendar Girl twice and is part of the Hooters Calendar Board. She has also participated in the Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant several times and was first runner-up for Miss Hooters International 2012. She also travels worldwide as part of the Hooters International Training Team.

She also said working for Hooters was her "single-best decision" and that she couldn't ask for a better family.
