Justin Timberlake wrote 'N Sync hit 'Gone' for Michael Jackson

'N Sync fans, wrap your head around this one: according to Justin Timberlake himself, it seems that the boy band's hit song Gone was intended for Michael Jackson.

"Originally I wrote that song for Michael," Timberlake told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Tuesday. "I've always been a big fan of him and I think back to … it made me reminisce to the times he performed at the VMAs with 'N Sync, where we performed at Madison Square Garden with him, and the numerous meetings I had had with him in the past just about music.

But why didn't the King of Pop record the song, which ended up becoming a huge 'N Sync hit?

"I don't know if he just never heard the record, couldn't get it to him … or he heard it and maybe didn't want to record it. I kind of got word that he had never heard the record."

Mind = blown.
