Now this is a real game changer!
Merriam-Webster announced today that the fifth edition of The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary – the first major update in nearly a decade – will include more than 5,000 new words.
It will be officially sanctioned on Dec. 1. And many of the words fall right into our entertainment and pop culture arena:
Merriam Webster enlisted comedian Judy Gold to explain her favorite new entry, SCHMUTZ.
Currently, the word with the highest-scoring possibility is QUINZHEE, at a maximum point value of 401 points.
What does it mean? It's a temporary snow shelter.
