Olive Garden delivers free lunch to first responders

Some hard working Bridgeton firefighters got a special thank you this Labor Day.

KSDK - For the 15th year in a row, Olive Garden is honoring first responders with free lunch on Labor Day.

More than 800 locations across the US visited stations and departments to serve a "thank you lunch" to the community heroes. NewsChannel 5 was there as members of the Pattonville Fire Protection District had their thank you meal delivered.

Eric Stranghoener, his wife and sons also stopped by the firehouse to say thank you. Their boys, Cooper and Luke, made brownies for the firefighters. In return, Firefighters showed them their gear and gave them a tour of the firetruck.

Olive Garden has coordinated the nationwide effort, resulting in more than 10,000 meals served since 2002.
