Passengers assist in KC airport proposal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Love was in the air at Kansas City International Airport Monday. A South African man proposed to his Missouri girlfriend of three years, and all the passengers on George Erasmus' flight from South Africa were in on it.

Each passenger handed Ashley Kracht a flower as they got off the plane.

Finally, her boyfriend de-planed, handing her a bouquet of flowers. Then he got down on one knee and popped the question to his surprised girlfriend. She said "of course."

"I've been planning this since like January, so it's been a long wait. It's hard to keep secrets, so I was excited," said Erasmus.

"I'm overwhelmed. I'm shaking. I did not expect this at all," said Kracht.

Reporter: "When you started seeing people coming out handing you flowers, what was going through your head?"

"What's happening? Won't he just come off the plane?" laughed Kracht.

Kracht thought she was picking her boyfriend up from the airport. She had no idea what was in store.

The couple met when Kracht was doing missionary work in South Africa.
