There are several stingrays for you to meet at the new attraction at the St. Louis Zoo.

There are 35 stingrays in this pool!

But before you pet these gentle fish, you must first wash your hands!

Then its time to find a great spot and let them come to you! Thinking about stingrays might at first scare some people but these rays have had their stingers filed down.

The only thing to watch out for is that sometimes these fish like to play so you just might get splashed!

The stingrays seem to fly under the water, as they gracefully glide to every pint sized petter.

A few times during the day at the zoo visitors will even get a chance to feed them

It's an experience that some kids will remember for ever

And when you are done playing with your new pal you can grab a bite at "Rays Bar & Grill" or shop in the gift shop and take home your very own version of this gentle creature.

You can pet the stingrays at the Caribbean Cove in the Zoo from now until October 4.

Admission to the Zoo is free but the stingray attraction costs $3 per person, for zoo friends it is a $1.50 and kids under two are free...but admission is free the first hour the zoo is open.

Feedings happen at various times throughout the day, there is no set schedule.
