Business is booming for a Lake St. Louis company thanks to beards across the country

All natural men's personal care products.

In the middle of a row of shops at The Meadows at Lake St. Louis Justin Grey is working tirelessly to get the doors open on a unique space that will be both a barber shop and a bar.

"Uh, pool, darts, grab a drink we have a full service bar," Grey explains.

All of it is to compliment his line of all natural men's personal care products.

"It started just with the beard balm. I had a smaller beard at the time and my wife was saying I could grow my beard as long as I wanted it as long as it met three criteria. It had to look good, it had to smell good and it couldn't poke her when I kissed her," he points out.

He tried several things on the market, but nothing stacked up.

"And she saw the credit card statement and said no you're not doing that you can go ahead and keep it short I said fine I'll just make my own and she goes okay."

To her surprise after some trail and error, he ended up with The Beardly Man beard balm, something that now comes in 12 scents.

"So you have the nicer cleaner smells to manly gun oil, sawdust."

The most popular is Casanova.

"It's a cherry piped tobacco," he adds.

From there the line grew to beard oils and beard wash.

"Now we have shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, shave products for the guys who do shave."

His business card is a small tin sample. He's sort of a walking billboard for products that are now sold to people throughout United States and Europe. And just think it's a business that began over a pot in his kitchen.

"It was just a way to make some extra cash and keep my beard growing."
