Fundraiser lifts heart of bullied middle school boy

"It just means everything, the support and love and caring, it just lifted C.J.’s heart."

A fundraiser was held on Saturday for a boy who was bullied.

Earlier this year, someone pushed C.J. Hunt down the stairs at Ritenour Middle School.

Hunt spent five days in the hospital with severe nerve damage. He had to be homeschooled because of the lingering pain.

After the 5 On Your Side I-team did a story on Hunt, someone planed a fundraiser for him.

Hundreds of people showed up to give Hunt a big TV and an Xbox.

“It just means everything, the support and love and caring, it just lifted C.J.’s heart, my spirit because it’s really been a long hard road,” C.J.’s mother said.

STL Youth Sports Outreach hosted the event as part of their annual fundraiser.
