Police searching for 2 suspects after fatal officer-involved shooting

The car the individuals were driving was a Hyundai which was reported as stolen Wednesday.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are still searching for two suspects after an officer-involved shooting in north St. Louis.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday, police were patrolling near the intersection of E. College and Conde in north St. Louis when a car carrying four people spun out of control and hit a curb. The group of people inside the car exited their car and the officers got out of their patrol car.

One person from inside of the car then aimed a handgun with an extended magazine towards the officers. The officers, who feared for their lives according to police, shot at the individual and another occupant of the vehicle.

Police said at a press conference one of the suspects who was shot was a 14-year-old. The other person who was killed was an adult man. Both were transported to an area hospital, where the adult man was pronounced dead. The teen was listed in stable condition.

The other two suspects fled the scene. The car the individuals were driving was a Hyundai which was reported as stolen Wednesday.

Neither officer was injured during the incident. The first officer, 30-years-old, has 2.5 years of experience; the other officer, 29-years-old, has been serving for four years.

Both officers were placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.​​​​​​
