Rally Cat found in City Garden; plans to be reunited with team

A board member of the St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach confirms the kitten found in City Garden is Rally Cat based on its distinctive features.

The infamous 'Rally Cat' was found in City Garden early Friday morning.

The St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach says they trapped a kitten at City Garden overnight and confirms the cat found is Rally Cat based on its distinctive features, according to a board member.

Friday afternoon, the St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach provided an update, saying the kitten was getting a checkup at the veterinarian's office.

"We are confident he is the right cat because of the bands on his legs and the bullseye on his back," the post said

5 On Your Side sports writer Brian Stull reported on Twitter a Cardinals official said the cat will be reunited with the team following its release from a quarantine.

The Cardinals later took to Twitter to confirm the Rally Cat has, indeed, been located.

Who is Rally Cat?

The unofficial mascot ran on the field at Busch Stadium during Wednesday night’s game against the Royals during the sixth inning. Yadier Molina stepped up to bat with the bases loaded, after taking the first pitch – Molina stepped out of the batter’s box and pointed his bat to the outfield where he saw a cat running across the field. A member of the grounds crew scooped the cat up and brought it toward the stands.

On the next pitch, Molina hit a grand slam.

According to the Cardinals, a fan grabbed the cat and claimed it was hers. The security team tried to catch up with her to ask her some questions, but she left with the cat. The woman says she lost track of the cat in City Garden.
