The St. Louis Cardinals have applied for a $6.2 million building permit to begin construction on the apartment portion of the $260 million second phase of Ballpark Village.
The permit, according to city records, has not yet been issued. But once issued, the team and its development partner, Cordish Cos., would have the green light to begin construction at any time.
The Cardinals have previously said they expect to begin work on the project before the end of the year.
Officials with the Cardinals and Cordish, the team’s development partner, did not reply to requests for comment.
