AOL buying Adap.TV for $405 million

AOL announced Wednesday that it is buying AdapTV, a video programming company, for $405 million.

In an interview on CNBC early Wednesday, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong said the acquisition will help the company improve its ability to integrate advertising with video content.

The company also posted second-quarter results that bested Wall Street estimates on revenue and earnings. And it raised its guidance for full-year results.
