(CNN) - The CEO of Best Buy has resigned.
The electronics retailer announced Tuesday that Brian Dunn stepped down in a mutual agreement.
Best Buy has been struggling to keep up with fierce competition from online retailers such as Amazon and big-box stores like Walmart and Target.
The move comes just weeks after Dunn unveiled a series of steps to turn business around including a plan to close 50 stores by 2013.
