St. Louis (KSDK) -- The greenest building in the region is officially open.
Mayor Francis Slay and other leaders were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sheet Metal Workers' Headquarters and Training Center at Chouteau and Jefferson.
The LEED certification system ranks buildings based on how environmentally friendly they are. This facility features solar panels, wind turbines among other energy saving systems.
