St. Louis (KSDK) -- Is it messy? Smelly? In an odd location? KSDK will "Take This Job!"
This morning, NewsChannel 5 debuted a new segment on Today in St. Louis called "Take This Job". The premise is simple. We are looking for the dirtiest, grimiest, most unusual and most foul-smelling occupations--and our own Pat McGonigle will do it for a day.
In the first installment of "Take This Job", Pat tried his hand with Gills Tree Service.
John Gills challenged Pat to grind down stumps, feed brush into a shredder and even lop off tree limbs with a chainsaw from a bucket truck.
"I'll tell you what I tell everyone," Gills instructed Pat. "If you fall, you're fired before you hit the ground."
Pat didn't fall, as you can see in the video on this page, and he was safely harnessed in the bucket.
Full disclosure: Pat regretfully neglected to wear safety goggles, ear plugs and a helmet while working in the bucket, all safety measures everyone should follow. Precautionary steps we assure you we'll take in the future.
So, how about it? Is there a task where you work that no one wants to do? Maybe it's the one place no one wants to go.
Email Pat at pmcgonigle@ksdk.com or reach out to him on Facebook or Twitter. Because Pat will "Take This Job!"
