St. Louis (KSDK) - If you think your electric bills have been high this summer, they may go up even more.
Ameren Missouri is calling for a 14.6 percent rate increase.
For the average family, that's about 46 cents more a day.
Ameren says it needs $376 million to cover higher fuel costs and infrastructure improvements.
Residents have a chance to weigh in at several public hearings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
One begins at 6 p.m. at Arnold City Hall.
On Thursday, hearings are at 12 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on Lindbergh in south St. Louis County and at 6 p.m at the Wohl Community Center on Kingshighway.
