ST. LOUIS - The numbers are in, and two St. Louis-based companies have been named to Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine's 'Best Workplaces for Women' list.
The rankings are based on employee surveys and the representation of women.
Coming in third on the list is Build-A-Bear, the Overland-based retailer specializing in teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Of the more than 800 employees surveyed, 96 percent say they're given the resources they need to do their job, 95 percent say the employees care about each other, and 94 percent say it's a fun place to work.
Des Peres-based financial services firm Edward Jones came in at number seven on the list. Of the 972 employees surveyed, 96 percent said they're proud to work there, 96 percent say management is honest and ethical, and 96 percent say they have a good working environment.
This was the second year for the Best Workplaces for Women list. Both Build-A-Bear and Edward Jones have advanced in the rankings from last year's inaugural list when they landed at 10th and 31st.
