3 Caseyville teenagers charged in string of burglaries

CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) – Three Caseyville teenagers are charged with stealing cash, guns and electronics from homes in unincorporated St. Clair County.

The robberies occurred from Dec. 18 – Jan. 20. On Jan. 22, the father of one of the suspects – who has been identified as 18-year-old Tyler Ashcraft – called police, telling them that he had stolen property.

An ensuing investigation revealed that he had been responsible for numerous residential and vehicular burglaries in Monroe, Madison and St. Clair Counties. Two additional suspects – 18-year-old Zachary Wood and 19-year-old James Garrett – were also discovered to have stolen items.

Ashcraft is charged with two counts of residential burglary, and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond. Wood and Garrett have also been charged with residential burglary, and are currently being held on a $150,000 bond at St. Clair County Jail.
