KSDK -- A third-grader at St. Ferdinand Catholic School in Florissant took some electric shaving clippers to a priest's head Tuesday afternoon at a school assembly -- and it was for a good cause.
Father Joe Post, associate pastor of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, stopped cutting his hair last summer and pledged to raise money for families who're struggling to pay school tuition by raffling off a chance to shave his head.
Father Post, a self-admitted clean-cut guy, had grown his hair down to his shoulders when it came time to pay up. Third-grader Paul Reddy won the contest and gave Father Post a half-military cut, leaving the rest of his hair in sort of a windswept, Flock of Seagulls-style.
Before the raffle, Father Post agreed to leave his haircut in place for a full day.
The raffle raised more than $1,000 for Father Post's cause.
