KSDK -- A dramatic victory for the Cardinals on April 18, 1987. Tom Herr hit a grand slam in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Red Birds a 12-8 victory over the Mets.
The game was tied at 8 apiece when Herr rocked Jesse Orosco with a bases loaded blast.
As Herr circled the bases fans celebrated by throwing their seat cushions all over the field.
The victory put the Cardinals in first place in the National League. They would go on to win the pennant, but lose the World Series to the Twins.
