(St. Louis) KSDK -- Despite the freezing temperatures, hundreds came out to Busch Stadium today to show their support for first basemen Albert Pujols, who has spent his entire career playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. The "Give Us 5 For Life" rally was organized in an attempt to make Pujols a lifetime Cardinals player. The grassroots effort first originated on the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

Dan Lozano, a high profile MLB agent who represents Pujols, announced in January the deadline to sign Pujols to a new contract would be in the beginning of Spring Training. Pujols has been very vocal in his desire to stay with the Cardinals.

While the cardinals have until February 19th to reach an agreement with Pujols, some fans hope to put pressure on the team to re-sign Pujols before spring training begins.
