Chaminade beats McCluer North 76-58 on ESPNU
KSDK - Brad Beal proved Saturday that there is not much he can't do. Against McCluer North, a game featured on national telvision ESPNU, Beal did it all - got steals, blocked shots, got his teammates involved, took charges and oh yeah, dropped 40 points.
The McDonald's All-American scored on 15 of 21 shooting, including five for eight from 3-point. His final stats included six boards, six assists, four steals and two blocked shots.
ESPNU had interest in the meeting to feature Beal against North standout guard and University of Arkansas recruit B.J. Young who finished with 24 points on the day, 5 points below his average.
The Red Devils got additional help from Brendan Kelly who added 12 points and grabbed 12 boards moving Chaminade to 23-0 on the season. They are off until Friday when they take on SLUH.
North, who got some scoring from juniors Treymayne Garret, 15 points, and Jordon Granger, 13 points, lose their 4th game out of 6. They'll take on Ritenour Thursday before beginning district play.
