St. Louis (KSDK) -- Google fourth grade science projects and stuff like cockroaches and worms pop up. Jacob Clark, however, recently decided to tackle a stickier subject.

"I have Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira," Jacob explains.

It's a subject that baseball owners and agents can't always figure out.

"I had to find their stats and then I did that," Jacob says.

You see, Jacob set out to discover what St. Louis Cardinal Albert Pujols is actually worth by creating a point system.

"A performance point is every time you touch a base.  So a single is one performance point, a walk is one performance point, a double is two performance points," Jacob explains.

A triple equals three points, and a home run equals four. Then through data, observations and graphs he compared Pujols to the top paid players in the league, like A-Rod and Jeter.

"He spent a lot of time researching the top 15 highest paid hitters," says he dad, Jon Clark.

Truth be told, it became more of a family project.

"We probably spent an hour, five or six days a week working on this," Clark adds.

And after about 70 or 80 hours Jacob came to a conclusion.

"I compared him to the top two and saw that he's a little better than them so I think he should be paid around what he's worth and that's $32-million," Jacob says.

For the record, $30-million a year is acceptable in his eyes.  And if it came down to having Pujols stay ,or getting an A on the project, well...

"Have Albert stay in St. Louis," Jacob says.

That's an answer he didn't really have to search for.
