head basketball coach Pat Kennedy has resigned his position, effective
The Tigers finished the 2010-11 campaign at 4-26 and were winless in 18 games
in Colonial Athletic Association play.
Kennedy guided the program for seven seasons and compiled a record of 72-142.
The Tigers best season under Kennedy was 2006-07 with a 15-17 mark and they
finished under .500 in each of his campaigns.
"Pat Kennedy is a class act and a great basketball mind," athletic director
Mike Waddell said. "It is unfortunate the past seven seasons have not met our
mutual expectations. I am sure he will continue in the basketball world, as he
He has a career record of 488-545 and has taken teams to the NCAA
Tournament on eight different occasions, including a trip to the Elite
Eight in 1992-93 with Florida State. Kennedy has also made stops in DePaul and
Montana, among others.
