St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - They put in countless hours to get it finished on time. The men and women who built the new Busch Stadium celebrated a job well done.
After rushing to meet deadlines, this was a chance for the crews to relax and enjoy an evening in the ballpark with their families. The workers have been here before. In fact, most have been coming each day for months. But on this day, they entered Busch Stadium with their tools at home and brought their families to see what they had built.
This night was about pride in a project well done. More than 3,000 people played a role in the construction, everything from excavation to the plumbing to the tiles. They got to tour the building, sample the concessions and even duck in the dugout for some photos.
But for all the deadlines met and work accomplished, crews said everything is not quite over yet.
