St. Louis (KSDK) -- On this day 44 years ago, Anheuser-Busch brewery became the first brewery in the United States to be dedicated by the National Park Service as a registered national landmark.
Brewery employees joined civic leaders at the ceremony at 9th and Pestalozzi Street. National Parks Director George Hartzog, Jr. and Anheuser-Busch President August Busch, Jr. unveiled a bronze plaque.
Three locations in the plant area were designated, including the brew house, which dates back to 1882.
