Farmington, Missouri (KSDK)-- A St. Francois County Judge has ruled the state has sufficient evidence to proceed to trial in the involuntary manslaughter case against a New York City truck driver.
That decision was made during a preliminary hearing in Farmington on Monday.
Along with the three counts of manslaughter against 37 year old Robert Carmona, he's also accused of driving with a revoked license.
Carmona was arrested following a January 20th crash on U-S Highway 67 near Bonne Terre that claimed the lives of 56 year old Frank Weber of Desoto, 20 year old Aaron Weber and 18 year old Rachel Sharp, both of Bonne Terre.
Authorities say Carmona's southbound tractor trailer unit slammed into the back end of the car carrying the three victims killed in the crash.
Bond in the case against Carmona was originally set at $150,000.00. It has since been raised to $301,000.00 cash only bail in the case which is scheduled to return to court May 20th for the tentative scheduling of a trial date.
