Maryland heights, Mo (KSDK) -- The Pattonville School District is using social media to help people impacted by the tornadoes and storms in the St. Louis-area.

Pattonville Provides is a Facebook movement aimed at getting storm relief to those who need it most.

Posts on the page offer a number of ways people can get involved today. People can bring donations to the storm shelter in Maryland Heights, or go to Grace Church at 10:00 a.m. today to volunteer.

One teacher in the district says some teachers and staff will spend their day today volunteering in the community.
Pattonville schools are closed today because of power outages.

The district established a relief fund to support the families of students and staff who have been impacted by Friday's storm damage. Funds will be distributed through PattCare, Pattonville's charitable organization that supports Pattonville students and staff in crisis.

Anyone wishing to donate to the relief fund should send their donation to PattCare Storm Relief Fund, c/o Pattonville Learning Center, 11097 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. Checks should be made payable to PattCare.

Families of Pattonville students or staff needing financial assistance from PattCare to help with recovery needs should contact their school counselor for more information.
