St. Louis (KSDK)-- Nobody was hurt, but for a time there was considerable worry people could be trapped inside a north city home that caught fire early today.
The two story brick residence in the 1900 block of Semple was heavily involved in fire when firefighters arrived and sounded the first alarm.
The flames were knocked down quickly, and a search of the residence showed it to be unoccupied and nobody was found inside.
Aside from the obvious fire damage to the structure, there was also extensive smoke and water damage. Fire investigators have not yet established an exact cause for the blaze.
