KSDK - Ceremonies in New York to Paris were held to mark the 40th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh's historic solo transatlantic flight.
The welcoming ceremony in Paris came to a crashing halt seconds after pilot Frank Tallman taxied up in a replica of the Spirit of St. Louis airplane. The front of the dignitaries stand collapsed.
U.S. Ambassador Charles Bohlen and Mayor Frank Curran of San Diego, where the original plane and the replica were made, were shaken up, but no one was seriously injured.
