Marquell Jackson beaten, found dead in dumpster

St. Louis (KSDK)--  St. Louis police identified an 18-month-old found dead in a dumpster in south St. Louis Wednesday morning.

Police responded to an area behind the 2300 block of South Jefferson around 6:15 a.m. after getting a report from a family member that Marquell Jackson was missing. After a short time, a K-9 unit found Jackson dumped in a trash container.

Preliminary autopsy reports indicate Jackson was beaten, according to police.

Police searched the child's home and found no sign of forced entry.

The family and neighbors are being questioned, but no one has been taken into custody.
