St. Louis (KSDK) -- Wednesday marks the 61st anniversary of former President Harry Truman's visit to St. Louis.
In 1950, Truman attended a reunion of the Army's 35th Division from both World Wars. He also received an honorary doctor of law degree.
A parade was held in Truman's honor, with more than 13,000 military and civilian marchers. It concluded at Grant's Farm, where Truman spent time with local icon August A. "Gussie" Busch, Jr.
This video was filmed by KSDK News when it was owned by Pulitzer Broadcasting. It was discovered in an unopened film can by an employee at the Post-Dispatch, another former Pulitzer company, in 1996.
Prior to the film's discovery, neither KSDK nor Pulitzer knew it existed.
