St. Louis (KSDK) - Westbound I-64 will be closed between the Poplar Street Bridge to 21st Street this weekend.
MoDOT said the close all westbound lanes at 8:00 a.m. Saturday after the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure begins. Motorists traveling downtown for the race need to arrive early to avoid a delay.
MoDOT suggests the following detours for Komen racers and others coming downtown Saturday morning:
-I-70 to Memorial Drive
-I-55 to 7th Street
-I-44 to Jefferson
-Use MetroLink or Metrobus
Westbound I-64 will reopen Sunday at noon, but work will continue in the area until 3 a.m. Monday. On the eastbound side of the interstate, only one lane will open between 21st Street and the Poplar Street Bridge from 8 a.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Monday.
There will also be lane closures on the Poplar Street Bridge in both directions. Motorists are advised to use I-255, or the Eads, McKinley or Martin Luther King bridges to get from Illinois to Missouri.
