St. Louis (KSDK)-- St. Louis University Hospital administrators shut down the emergency room Sunday night and called out the bomb squad after a man showed up with some unusual injuries.

St. Louis police say the man had what appeared to be burns from an explosive device on his hand and leg. He apparently hurt himself making fireworks. He's expected to make a full recovery.

Hospital administrators closed the emergency room and called police when they learned the man had some of the "home made" fireworks in his car parked outside the hospital.

Police secured the scene and no one else was hurt.
