St. Louis (KSDK) - In the ever-expanding world of cupcakery, it can be hard to set your sweet shop apart. A couple hardworking chefs in St. Louis have gotten their just desserts.
It's among the tastiest shows on the Food Network, and it's cupcakery at its best, as the masterminds behind each dash, drizzle and dust from across the country compete for $10,000 and the title of winner of 'Cupcake Wars'.
In fact, two of our very own needed to keep the secret that they traveled to Los Angeles for baking bragging rights, since early May.
"See at Jilly's, size really does matter," said 33-year-old chief pastry consultant Casey Shiller during their team's YouTube.com demo tape.
And actually, about a year later, Shiller and 52-year-old chef Dana Holland got the icing on the cake when they won the competition.
With the season three stunner airing Tuesday night, Jilly's, located along Delmar, unveiled its new look with a party and proof that whether it's a Bee Sting, Twisted Pink Velvet or Missylicious, their batter is officially better.
"We just showed everyone that Jilly's is the best cupcakes there are," Shiller said. "Try to stop us, because there's nowhere but higher to go."
