St. Louis (KSDK) -- Our up again, down again, clear again, stormy again ride through early summer isn't going to smooth out any time soon, which means the temperature up and the Heat Index will be going up this Fourth of July weekend.
Today, we'll get plenty of sun and highs will push into the mid 90s. With dew points in the mid 60s, though, the Heat index will stay below 100.
That will change in a significant way tomorrow.
A Heat Advisory is in effect from Friday at noon through Saturday at 7pm with temperatures expected to push into the mid to upper 90s and the Heat Index near 105.
We'll be dry today and tomorrow, but on Saturday afternoon, a weak cool front will approach from the north and that should trigger a few afternoon and evening storms. The front stays near, but north on Sunday and the result will be the same; afternoon and evening storms possible with highs in the low to mid 90s.
On The Fourth of July, the cool front should drop a little further south. As a result, showers and storms are likely. Temperatures should be a little cooler with highs near 90.
