St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - She usually teaches history, but on Friday, a local teacher was able to tweet history.
"There was a lot of information being given," Christine Ruder said. "You try to process that in your brain and tweet it out really quickly so people who are following you can learn a little bit of something too."
Ruder was one of 150 people selected by NASA to tweet about the shuttle launch. She applied online to be part of NASA's so-called Tweet-up event and says she never expected to be picked. You're looking at some of her tweets in the video.
Ruder, a third grade teacher in Rolla and a graduate of Fontbonne University, had to pay her own way to Florida, but says it was worth the trip.
Thanks to NASA, she sat with the media and had one of the best seats in the house.
