The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Foundation is launching a new program entitled "Share Your Harvest" which allows local gardeners to donate their extra food that the Pantry will distribute to hungry residents in the community.

"Basically home gardeners, often times they'll get too much stuff, so what are they gonna do with it? Hopefully they'll be able to donate it to us, here at the pantry," David Meissner, Outreach Coordinator for the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Foundation, said.

The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry has been serving the needy families of the  St. Louis community with meals and resources for 20 years. They not only help those who come for counseling, but those in need of a good meal.

The pantry currently serves 4,000 families each month, many who would go hungry otherwise. The pantry is open Monday-Thursday 8:30a.m.- 4p.m. and Friday 8:30a.m-4p.m.

The new  "Share Your Harvest" program will also serve to educate young people about the importance of eating healthy food.
