Fayette County officials were first to respond to the location due to an initial report of a crash involving an overturned semi truck.

While investigating the initial accident report, officers say a second collision involving the bus and the disabled semi-truck occurred.

Six people were injured in the crash.

The remaining passengers on the tour bus are said to be in good condition and will be fine.  The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 46-year-old Phillip Carter of St. Louis, as well as the driver of the semi-truck were airlifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital. Carter is listed in fair condition.

Two people who stopped to help Carter were also injured.  They were identified as Leldon Coffey of Harrah, Oklahoma and 45-year-old Jeyakumar Arumugam of Toronto, Canada. Arumugam has been released from the hospital. Coffey is in fair condition.

He says, "I feel very lucky.:

His wife Carrie adds, "And I'm glad the other drivers are alright, nobody was seriously injured, because it was a horrific accident. I've never seen anything like it."
