Webster Groves, Mo (KSDK) -- A group of students has been hard at work the last two weeks preparing for something other than school.
They're putting on a musical revue with 21 songs and these kids have some pipes, but here's what's even more impressive than their voices. Thirty-seven students from 20 schools have come together over the last two weeks to put on this musical revue.
"It was a ton of work, but it was very worth it. Just pulling together logistics and organization and who's in what song and rehearsal times and costumes, you really realize how much goes into a show, it's not just the performers performing," explains Sally Lemkemeier, the 16 year old director of the show.
A parent is at rehearsals for safety purposes, but Sally directs, Alex has been the guy on the piano, and the kids produce it, choreograph it, and then of course, perform it.
"What's cool about this is we get to use our talents and our passions which is, all of us love musical theater, to do something for a good cause. So not only are we working really hard, but it's a ton of fun and we're doing it to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation," adds Lemkemeier.
You can hear the Arch City Theater Troupe for yourself Friday and Saturday at 7:30 at Nerinx Hall. There's also a show Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. There's no admission fee, but of course they'll take a donation. The troupe has raised over $100,000 in the last six years.
