St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Starting Friday, local firefighters will hit the streets to raise money for programs like the MDA Camp.

They'll be at intersections all throughout the metro area asking you to fill their boots with cash. It's part of their annual fundraiser for the MDA Labor Day Telethon.

Mike Bush and Heidi Glaus will once again host the telethon live from Grant's Farm. But instead of going 19-1/2 hours, this year's telethon is going prime time from 6 p.m. until midnight on Sunday.

The show is shorter but it's packed with talent, including appearances from Lady Antebellum, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

We hope you can join us for this good time for a great cause.

The MDA telethon starts Sunday night at 6 p.m. here on NewsChannel 5.
