St. Louis (KSDK) -- Starting Friday, the public will be able to get a sneak peak at the newly renovated Peabody Opera House.
The former Municipal Auditorium or Kiel Opera House has so much history in the building and now a new generation will be able to make memories when it opens.
Mayor Francis Slay and other officials will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9.m. Friday.

The public can take free tours all weekend. The tours on Friday will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Saturday they will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, the tours will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Peabody Opera House is also sponsoring a the concert stage at the Taste of St. Louis which is taking place right across the street at Soldiers Memorial.
Aretha Franklin and Jay Leno will headline the Peabody Opera House gala re-opening on October 1.
