St. Louis (KSDK) - Trick-or-treaters will be out in force Monday night.
A poll of parents of children 12 and under done in September of 2011, shows of the 935 parents who responded, 89 percent say their kids will trick-or-treat this year.
But while 79 percent have talked with their children about Halloween safety while trick-or-treating, only one-third talk to their child every year about safety.
On average, more than twice as many children are killed in pedestrian/car accidents on Halloween between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. than during the same hours on any other day of the year.
We talked with Moira Donohue with Safe Kids USA about the safety concerns you need to know when your children hit the streets.
