Overland, MO (KSDK) - A 58 year old man is dead in a fire which police say he ignited at his home in the 2200 block of Dawes Place in Overland.
Police Chief Michael Laws says police were called to the home of John Michael Walsh around 3 p.m. Friday for a domestic disturbance. They found Walsh arguing with his ex-wife on the porch of the home.
Authorities removed the ex-wife from the property after Walsh began making threats to hurt himself.
After police escorted the ex-wife from the home, they say Walsh barricaded himself inside and set the house ablaze. He died in the fire.
The police chief says the ex-wife was not physically harmed.
