St. Louis (KSDK) - U.S. Army Captain Chris Nordin is stationed at Jefferson Barracks.

His son, Jeramie, was paralyzed over the summer after a car accident in Texas.

Since then, everyday tasks like getting around town have become difficult.

Thanks to "Winning Technologies" and "Carson Natural Bridge Automotive," the family now has a van with wheelchair access.

The two companies partnered to repair and modify the van.

Today, they donated it to Captain Nordin and his family.

"Just knowing that people who barely know you will reach out and help tells you a lot about the people in this area. They really care," said Capt. Nordin.

The owner of "Winning Technologies" said the van donation was the least he could do to assist soldiers who give so much of themselves.
