(KNTV) -- The Food and Drug Administration is working to put an end to a California man's "free sperm donations".
Trent Arsenault of Fremont has fathered 14 children.
Arsenault connects his sperm with couples looking to conceive directly through his website, where he lists his medical records, including a list of sexually transmitted diseases he has been tested for.
The federal government is not happy that the 36-year-old is a direct seller, of sorts, and skirts local sperm banks.
"It is helping people in need," Arsenault says. "I don't make any money, I don't charge people anything. And it's just helping childless couples have children."
The FDA has challenged Arsenault is court, and the battle has waged on for over a year.
Now he is awaiting a formal hearing from the FDA.
He continues to donate until that happens, a practice he has been doing regularly since 2004 and that has prompted 20,000 email responses to his unique service.
